  • 12/28 – Assisted Cory with iPod Touch setup
  • 11/26 – Setup my personal, always-on, remotely-accessible Music Server that provides tunes locally in my studio and to my mobile devices when I travel.
  • 11/24 – Diagnosed Marty’s Dell Desktop, Recovered data from failing Hard Drive, RMA’d (replaced) Hard Drive, Re-setup system and restored data.
  • 11/14 – Onsite for Tribeza Magazine – Fixed an iMac’s fan that was running constantly and loudly; Setup Time Capsule for the office to use for backups and as network accessible storage
  • 10/24 – Assisted Hampton with consolidating documents from multiple computers and uploading to Google Drive for editing and upload to Amazon Kindle Store
  • 10/15 – Replaced broken screen hinge and back panel on Tom’s Compaq CQ60 Notebook
  • 10/15 – Troubleshot Sterling’s Dell Notebook with battery that was not charging – Setup RMA
  • 10/15 – Configured Belkin Wireless Routers for Eponymous Garden’s Vacation Homes
  • 10/5 – Overhauled Brian & Patrick’s Toshiba Notebook
  • 10/3 – Diagnosed Jessica’s Desktop – backed up data, repaired Hard Drive via Low-Level Format, re-installed Windows, restored data, installed programs, and customized Windows. I also re-routed all of the internal cabling to maximize airflow.
  • 9/26 – Assisted Wayne with setting up a home security system with remote monitoring. Also troubleshot issues with Time Machine backups and iPhone mail problems.
  • 9/16 – Overhauled Merryl’s Dell Desktop
  • 7/12 – Setup the second wireless connection on Doug’s ranch, a 1,400ft link with dense oak tree cover. Configured two 900mhz wireless radios, mounted to houses, ran cabling, and established connections. Configured an Airport Express
  • 6/14 – Diagnosed Marty’s Dell Desktop, Hard drive has failed and data was unrecoverable. Ordered and installed a new Hard Drive, re-installed Windows, restored data, installed programs, and customized Windows.
  • 6/29 – Migrated Luther Wolf’s email server to Google Apps for Business. Configured Luther Wolf’s employee’s devices (iPhones, MacBooks, iPads, etc.) to connect to the new mail server.
  • 6/26 – Consulted with Jimmy Vaughan Co. regarding email questions.
  • 6/14 – Configured and installed two Mikrotik Wireless Radios to extend Doug’s internet connection from the house to his Shop Office for Advanced Heating and Cooling about ~400ft away. Also configured and installed a 2TB Apple Time Capsule for multiple Macs to backup to.
  • 6/11 – Upgraded 5 Lively Stone’s Mac Mini (with a non-functional SuperDrive) to the latest version of OS X via a disk image applied to a non-functional hard drive
  • 5/15 – Assisted Phillip with assembling and setting up a new custom desktop computer for his Audio Recording Studio
  • 4/20 – Setup my personal Home Theater & Design Studio, including: a wall-mounted 46″ LCD TV + 3 Computer Monitors, and a 5.1 Channel Surround Sound Stereo System
  • 4/13 – Assisted Wayne with Mac Mail, Time Machine not completing backups due to sleep settings, and consulted about faster home internet options and home security systems
  • 4/1 – Restored Cory’s iMac to working condition after having a failed Hard Drive replaced.
  • 3/20 – Troubleshot Chris’ iMac and concluded it had a bad Hard Drive. Purchased and installed new HD, installed and updated OS X

2011

  • 10/29 – Consulted with Cory of Luther Wolf regarding Apple Calendar sharing / Mobile Me going off line. Migrating to iCloud resolved this. Also consolidated two iPhoto Libraries (one from a MacBook Air and the other from an iMac) and setup a program to sync the libraries.
  • 8/29 – Remote computer support for Brad – resolved mobile broadband connection issue, assisted his wife Lisa with setting up her new MacBook and gave her a 101 on the differences between Windows and OS X. Also setup VM Ware with Windows XP for Brad.
  • 7/2 – Recovered as much data as possible from Romeo’s accounting computer’s failed hard drive. Purchased and installed new drive, installed and updated Windows Vista and all programs. Dropped off and setup computer at the restaurant.
  • 7/2 – Remotely assisted Linda with Quickbooks failing to launch properly.
  • 7/2 – Overhauled Jerry’s Dell Notebook – configured wireless router when dropping off computer
  • 3/5 – Restored Bill’s XP Virtual Machine via Time Machine restore

2010

  • 10/14 – Diagnosed Dora’s Dell desktop that was having issues. Replaced faulty power supply, Overhauled computer.
  • 10/9 – Remotely assisted Linda with locating a photo on her desktop.
  • 9/15 – Assisted Linda with a printer issue. Rolled computer back via System Restore and printers are working OK again.
  • 7/23 – Rebuilt and launched www.EponymousGarden.com website, including new photos and social media integration

2009

  • 11/19 – Al’s New Custom PC – Consulted with client regarding their computing needs. Al wants a quiet, future-proof, and stable PC. I selected, purchased, and assembled all the components, including a classy-looking, near-silent Lian Li Mini-ATX tower, AMD Athlon II x4 Quad Core @ 2.6ghz, 4GB of DDR2 1066 RAM, an Asus M2A74-AM Motherboard, a roomy 500GB Hard Drive, Windows 7 Home Premium, and a new 19″ Widescreen LCD.

2008

  • Built and Maintained a 6-Disk, 3TB, Raid-0, Gigabit, Network Accessible, Fault-Tolerant, Personal Media and File Server running FreeNAS
  • Learned the basics of M-Code programming and how to operate a CNC Machine equipped with a Plasma torch
  • Moved to Austin and Co-founded RIGS Custom Computer Solutions, my first foray into the entrepreneurial business world.
